The use and characteristic of overhead insulated cable

The overhead insulated cable series products are composed of pressed copper and aluminum (aluminum alloy) conductors, inner shielding layer, weather-resistant insulating material and outer shielding layer. They have both the power transmission characteristics of power cables and the strong mechanical properties of overhead cables. Compared with bare wires, this product has the characteristics of small laying spacing, high safety and reliability, and excellent atmospheric aging resistance.

Use of overhead insulated cables

Overhead insulated cable products are a new series of products for transmitting electric energy on overhead transmission lines. They are preferred for power grid construction and transformation of 10kV transmission project lines. It is a series of products suitable for line maintenance and safety. Soft copper wire core products are suitable for transformer lower leads.

Characteristics of overhead insulated cables

1. Rated voltage: 0.6/1KV, 10KV;

2. The long-term allowable operating temperature of the cable: 70°C for polyvinyl chloride insulation and 90°C for cross-linked polyethylene insulation.

3. During short circuit (not exceeding 5 seconds for a long time), the maximum temperature of the cable: PVC insulation is 160°C, high-density polyethylene insulation is 150°C, and cross-linked polyethylene insulation is 250°C;

4. The ambient temperature during cable laying shall not be lower than -20℃

5. The allowable bending radius of cables: cables with rated voltage below 1KV: if the cable outer diameter (D) is less than 25mm, it should not be less than 4D, and if the cable outer diameter (D) is 25mm and above

When storing cables, it is strictly forbidden to come into contact with acids, alkalis and mineral oils, and they must be stored in isolation from these corrosive substances;

There must be no harmful gases that damage insulation and corrode metal in the warehouse where cables are stored;

Try to avoid storing cables in an exposed manner in the open air. Cable drums are not allowed to be laid flat;

The cable should be rolled regularly during storage (once every 3 months in summer, and can be extended as appropriate in other seasons). When rolling, turn the edge of the storage plate upside down to prevent the bottom surface from getting wet and rotting. When storing, always pay attention to whether the cable head is intact;

The storage period of cables is limited to the factory date of the product, which should generally not exceed one and a half years and not more than two years;

It is strictly prohibited to drop cables or cable drums containing cables from high places during transportation, especially at lower temperatures (generally around 5°C and below). Throwing or dropping cables may cause the insulation and sheath to crack;

When lifting packages, it is strictly prohibited to lift several trays at the same time. On vehicles, ships and other transportation vehicles, cable drums must be fixed with appropriate methods to prevent them from colliding with or overturning, and to prevent mechanical damage to the cables.
