How to choose the charging pile cable?

Charging piles are very common energy supply equipment nowadays, but there are still many people who don’t know how many square meters of wires are needed to install charging piles. The thickness of the wiring harness of the charging pile cannot be uniformly discussed. It is mainly determined by the power storage capacity of the charging pile and the voltage that the wiring harness withstands when the power is flowing. 1.Cable selection

Charging piles are divided into single-phase and three-phase. Regardless of two-phase or single-phase, the first step is to convert to the AC incoming current.

(1) For single-phase charging piles (AC charging piles) I=P/U

(2) For the three-phase charging pile (DC charging pile) I=P/(U*1.732) After calculating the current in this way, select the cable according to the current.

Cable selection can refer to relevant manuals or procedures such as:

(1) The single-phase charging pile is generally 7KW (AC charging pile). According to I=P/U=7000/220=32A, a copper core cable of 4 square millimeters should be used.

(2) Three-phase charging pile (DC pile) 15KW current 23A cable 4 square millimeters 30KW current 46A cable 10 square millimeters 60KW current 92A cable 25 square millimeters 90KW current 120A cable 35 square millimeters In addition, all charging piles should have a neutral wire and ground wire. Therefore, a single-phase three-core cable is required, and a three-phase five-core cable is required.


2.Construction requirements

As the electric vehicle charging pile (bolt) on the power distribution side of the power grid, its structure determines that the characteristics of the automatic communication system are many and scattered measured points, wide coverage, and short communication distance. And with the development of the city, the network topology requires a flexible and scalable structure. Therefore, the selection of the communication mode of the electric vehicle charging pile (bolt) should consider the following issues:

Reliability of communication - The communication system must withstand the test of harsh environment and strong electromagnetic interference or noise interference for a long time, and keep the communication smooth.

Construction cost - on the premise of satisfying the reliability, comprehensively consider the construction cost and the cost of long-term use and maintenance.

Two-way communication - not only the upload of information, but also the release of control.
