Household wires are like other building materials such as water pipes. They do not need to be replaced frequently during normal use. Generally, it is only during the secondary renovation that we consider whether the wires need to be replaced. There are also many users who do not replace the wires during the secondary renovation. Shanghai Qifan brand household wires use 99.45% oxygen-free pure copper, which has strong anti-aging current load capacity and low resistivity.
The old national standard stipulates that the life of wires and cables should not be less than 20 years under normal use. Today’s new national standard has been upgraded again and changed to a life of not less than 70 years. In other words, as long as the wires are laid according to the specifications during the decoration construction, the life of the wires can be almost the same as the decoration life. But this does not mean that the wires can never be replaced. When the following three situations occur, you should consider replacing the wires.
There are quality problems. The national standard is good, but unfortunately not all products are qualified. Once we buy inferior lines, the troubles we bring to us are endless: if the insulation layer is slightly damaged, it is leakage; if the conductor is slightly broken, it is overload; if the joint is slightly sticky, it is a short circuit… Occasionally, one or two line failures can be considered coincidence or bad luck. But if the line fails frequently (1 to 2 times a year), we have to doubt the quality of the wires. At this time, the whole house needs to replace the wires-causing line failures and causing trouble to users is only one aspect. Once there is a problem with the protective device, it may also cause electric shock to people, burn equipment or cause fire.
The selection cannot meet the demand. With the increase in the number of home appliances, the selection of wires is also changing-thinking back more than a decade ago, home decoration generally used 1.5 square copper wires and 2.5 square copper wires. In today’s home decoration, 1.5 square wires are rarely seen, but 4 square or even 6 square wires are used in large quantities. No one can predict the future. Who knows whether the current on the line will increase (according to the current development direction, the line current will only increase), or decrease (the crazy research and development of environmentally friendly electrical appliances may lead to a decrease in line current in the future), or even no longer need wires.
What we can do now is to choose the best configuration we can see today at most – whether this configuration can meet the needs of the next few decades is not certain. Therefore, if one day in the future, today’s wire selection cannot meet the needs, we need to replace the wires. The quantity cannot meet the needs. On the one hand, it is the number of electrical equipment (the number of switches and sockets), and on the other hand, it is the number of circuits (each switch in the distribution box is a circuit). When the quantity cannot meet the needs, it is necessary to add or replace wires.
